This GMC Sierra was completely disassembled, restored and finished in a two-stage PPG Valencia Orange metallic paint. The grill was professionally re-chromed by South Coast Chrome of National City, Ca. and the rear bumper is new. The black powder-coated chassis was fitted with new suspension components including all new springs, shock absorbers, steering components, and a CCP brake system. A new 2.5 inch Skyjacker all-spring lift provides ample space for the 33x12.50 R15 wheels and tires.
The original block was rebuilt, bored 0.030 over and outfitted with a new Edelbrock rotating assembly and Comp cam, topped off with Comp 1.5 ration aluminum roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and intake, and a Holley Street Avenger carburetor. A late model serpentine belt system drives the under-hood accessories, and a set of ceramic coated long tube headers with beefy 3/8-inch flanges look great while efficiently removing the spent exhaust gases. Truck is cooled by a four core, all aluminum dual fan radiator.
The drive train includes the original K-case GM 700R4 automatic transmission and improved with a Beast sun shell and HD clutch packs. The original NP205 transfer case was found to remain in perfect condition throughout; it was cleaned, painted black, and installed with new gaskets and seals. The front and rear axles are original 3.73:1 positraction units with rebuilt center sections and new axle shafts.
Additional touches make this truck a pleasure to drive, including a period-correct tilt steering column and vintage air conditioning system. Interior accommodations include new black carpet, custom seat upholstery, and Grant steering wheel. The original gauges and cluster were cleaned and retained. A new Pioneer stereo unit with Bluetooth, Pioneer kick panel speakers, and under seat subwoofer provide amazing sound in this beautiful truck. Other excellent features and upgrades include replacement of the old in-cab fuel tank with an aluminum under bed mounted fuel tank, replacement of all lights, all new wiring by American Autowire and modern blade style fuses.
