This XR7 was purchase new at Bill Hopkins Lincoln Mercury, Gardena, Ca May 19, 1967 for $3900 by the consignor's step father. The VIN shows that it was built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant, Dearborn, MI and was equipped with 289 4V engine, and automatic transmission. This car comes with the original Bill of Sale, "protecto plate" warranty card, owners manuals, and every registration from 1968 to today in addition to maintenance receipts.
The car was comprehensively updated starting in 2010 and had the following work completed: Installation of a rebuilt 351 CID V8 engine, new electronic fuel injection, electronic ignition, C4 transmission, new interior including seats and headliner, complete bare metal repaint in the original Lime color, new wheels, new tires, and much more. All this work is documented with receipts that accompany the car.
The XR7 comes with the original wheels and wheel covers as well as the original steering wheel.
Though this car has been updated it retains the essential elements that make the XR7 such a popular car such as the badging, interior switches and gauges, and sequential rear lights. The car is in excellent condition and drives as good as it looks.
