The Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 is a high performance variant of the S-197 I Shelby Mustang that built in the 2007 ,2008 and 2009 model years . Created by a collaboration between Ford's SVT (Special Vehicle Team) and Shelby American, the GT500 evoked the original Shelby Mustang GT500, and was offered in coupe or convertible body styles. These cars featured a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine that had an output of 500hp and 480 lb ft of torque that was sent to the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual transmission. The S-197 I Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 was built until 2009, with a total of 22,989 examples produced.
